A Little Bit Famous

Last weekend, our town hosted the official ribbon-cutting and grand opening of its marina, which is right in the middle of town, by a park.  It's also, conveniently, a five minute cruise up the bayou from our dock.  Same bayou.  So that was thoughtful of them.  Since Rick doesn't work during the day, most days, he had the opportunity to bring the boat up-bayou for the ceremony.  The result is a lot of pictures of our little dancy butt boat in the media, including a nice one with the (current) mayor:

The whole marina is really nice, although it is a feat to get up on the deck from the low floating docks.  We have a step stool on board (it's blue, and you can barely see it in that last picture above) so that helps.

That event was on Friday, and was, sadly, our only boat time on Friday.  Usually we (at least try to) sleep aboard on Fridays but we had a gig that weekend, for Pirate Day in the Bay in Bay St. Louis.  A worthwhile reason to miss out on boat time.  On Saturday, we made up for it by grabbing our first mate and two of his favorite friends and heading back out to the beach for some fun.  Boys are fun.  They also ate all of our onboard snacks, but that's ok.

We also took the boat back over to that same park/marina for our gig on Sunday, so she got lots of float time this last weekend.  After the gig, a handful of folks sat on the aft deck for a couple of beers and some general bs'ing.

The new stereo works fine... except that bluetooth doesn't work in the speakers outside of the cabins.  Otherwise, it's perfect.

Now if we could get our radar working... and maybe get some charts with actual depths... we would be in perfect shape.  Oh, and a damn shower curtain.  We need a damn shower curtain.

It's fine because they don't call it "catching" so no I didn't catch anything and nobody cares, actually.

Batteries are heavy, fyi.
